Audrey Celebration Night
After nearly 40 years our conductor Audrey Corbett has decided to retire from conducting. All of the GBS family are extremely grateful to her for her years with GBS and the wonderful music she introduced to us. Of course we couldn’t let her leave without a bit of a celebration. Last weekend we had a celebration night for Audrey in the Connaught Hotel. Attended by current and former choir members it was a wonderful evening sharing many memories and music, and giving us singers the opportunity to thank Audrey for all she has done for GBS. Beginning with Handel’s Messiah in 1983 she taught us plain chant, 16th century a cappella, jazz, Irish and film music, and a whole host of orchestral works. We learned so much from her and most of all we did her way. Audrey thank you for the music. xxx
